On Thursday, I had Jack balancing against the couch playing with a book, when he turned slightly and looked like he was going to walk right over to me. So I encouraged him for a second, and what do you know, he took one... two... three steps before falling in my arms. After kissing him profusely, I propped him up to see if he'd do it again, and he did- three steps! The third time, he decided to free-fall into my arms and thought it was so funny, that that's what he's done since. But now we know he can, and we're so proud of him!
Then, yesterday, we had Kennison and Colton hanging out with us while Allison had a camp meeting. I had to get something out of my car, and left Colton in the bouncy seat, Jack sitting near the couch, and Kennison stood in the doorway watching me. When I came back about 30 seconds later, Jack had pulled up and was STANDING, hanging on to the couch! He, of course, wouldn't do it again for me when I tried to get it on video, but nonetheless, we've had two BIG days in the Friedrich house.
This bib was sent to Jack by the Alumni association at my college. Interestingly, he does come from a long line of LR Bears- his Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather Lingle... his Great Uncles Jeep and John, his cousin Paul, and his mommy!
