Jack at 18 months

Jack,

Today you are 18 months old, and the light of our lives.  Sometimes it seems impossible that 18 months have passed since we met you, and sometimes it's hard to remember what our lives were like without you. I can guarantee that since you've been here we smile more, laugh more, worry more, and get way more exercise than we ever did before. At 18 months you...

run more than walk

go down slides at the park on your tummy

get incredibly cute and sweet after bath time, we think in an attempt to delay bedtime

love to pull up your shirt and say "behwy" while sticking your fingers in your belly button

only nurse at your afternoon nap

have a ton of hair, which your daddy thinks is too long, but I think is beautiful

climb on everything

just started to ask to "weed book"s and usually want the same one read over and over

love to point at someone and say "YOU!" and then hit your chest and say "ME!"

sometimes take two naps, and sometimes take no naps

can almost sing the entire  ABC song as well as "Where Is Pumpkin" (Thumpkin),  and "Row Row Row Your Boat"

sleep from 7 to 7

pat me on the back when I pick you up out of your crib

like the book "All By Myself" best and can finish the last word on many of the pages

wear 2T tops and 18 month pants

weigh 27 lbs

wear size 5 1/2 or 6 shoes

love everything about being outside, especially your golf set and bubbles

pick up a phone (or something you think looks like a phone), put it to your ear and say "hewwo? hi!" over and over

always want to swing "fasser" (faster=higher)

hold my camera up to your face and say "cheese!"

always say "Hurrah!" at the right time in "The Ants Go Marching" and finish the phrase of each line of "One Two Buckle My Shoe"

have 12 teeth with four more a quarter of the way through

pretend to cough and cover your mouth to get us to laugh

ask "What you doing?" or "Where going?" a ton

like to climb up in the rocking chair with mama and sing "wok wok, wok wok" (rock rock)

also sing "sfing sfing" when swinging

say "hi" to almost everyone we pass in a store, but bury your head in my shoulder if they actually try to talk to you

You are such a blessing to us, little man, and we love you more than you'll ever know. It's hard to believe you're 3/4 of the way to 2!
