The hair and the cast. Both gone. And I don't think Jack's missing either of them! :-)
Both were pretty uneventful, too! My mom had the brilliant idea of making a "milkshake" and taking it to the big event of getting his cast off, since it worked so well at his haircut. He's happy to be free and running around like CRAZY!
Lately I've noticed the Jack's hair has been getting a little long and crazy. Again. Seriously, the kid's hair grows faster than any other human on the planet!
So before dinner one night I decided to give him a haircut. It wasn't nearly as successful as last time, with Jack not wanting me to come anywhere near his head. But a sucker, Barney, and Daddy holding his head in place a few times, and I was at least able to trim most of it. It's a little crooked in the back, but I'll try to even it up sometime this week when he's in a better mood.
After his haircut I decided to have Mike carry his whole chair, with him in it, to the back porch rather than get hair all over the living room. Mike was already out there grilling, and I needed to give the highchair, the double stroller, and a few other things a good hose down. We stripped Jack's clothes off and he wanted to join in the water fun!

I was looking at a picture of Jack on Allison's blog the other day...
Um, yikes! I knew he needed a haircut, but seriously, didn't realize it was that bad until I saw this picture. So, on the spur of the moment, last Friday I decided I could cut it myself. He absolutely hates for people to touch his head, which makes a trip to my hair lady torture for him (and us!).
I loaded him up in his booster seat over a sheet on the living room floor, stuck a Barney video in, and gave it a go.
First I did the back...
then the sides...
and he sat still and was great! When I got to the front he'd almost had it, so I had to pull out the big guns... a sucker! His second sucker ever, and he LOVED it, sitting perfectly still for Mommy.
In the end, there are a few crooked spots, but it looks TONS better than it did! And it was so much more calm than taking him to get it done, although it did take a lot longer. After a shower he looked like a new little man.
Now I'm in desperate need of a cut... but I think I'll be having someone else do that for me!
I realized it's been a good little while since I gave an update. We are here. We are well. Life is good.
Jack FINALLY started eating again yesterday, after almost two weeks of refusing anything and everything except baby cereal. As much as I'm ready to be done nursing, it's probably a good thing we still are because I'm sure that helped sustain him.
Anyway, I haven't really taken any pictures lately. Not really sure why, I just haven't. But I did notice that I have a lot of cute pictures on my cell phone from various events around our parts so I thought I'd share those.
Um... actually, looking at them I realized that you really shouldn't expect pictures of kids on your cell phone to come out well. Or to come out at all. Kids don't stay still, and apparently any little movement on a cell camera causes a blurry mess. In fact, other than this one of Kennison the first day I took her to preschool...
the only other non-blurry ones are of Jack sleeping. So anyway, here goes!
