Stay at home mommy

As of last week, I am officially a stay at home mommy. I decided not to go back to teaching, and after summer (when I have camp) I'll be home full-time with Jack. I have mixed emotions. I'm SO excited to get to be with my little guy everyday. I was only working outside our house two days a week, but I missed him terribly when I was gone, and it made things like nursing really hard. But, I love teaching, and I will miss it, too. I'm happy with the decision I made, though, and even happier that Allison will be taking over my job! There will be another Mrs. Friedrich at Christ the King! We had a good week, and here are a few pictures to prove it!

Jack loves to stand, and his pack n play is the perfect place for him to practice on his own. He can stand supporting himself in it for about 10 minutes! It also tastes good! :-)

Jack is big enough for a high chair now! He is getting to be such a big boy!

Jack loves his Daddy

The Friedrich Men- and the little ones in matching outfits. Someday they'll be SOOO embarrassed! Hehe.

Pouting

Here's Jack, master pouter.

Today was one of THOSE days. Jack has a cold, AGAIN. He probably got it on the plane. Poor kid has been sick almost as much as he's been well, at least since January. My school musical is tomorrow night, so I've had rehearsals every morning at school this week. Today he had to come with me. He was a good sport, and one of my 8th graders played with him during the rehearsal, which was a lifesaver. The kids got a kick out of his red collared "uniform" onesie that matched their uniform shirts. Too cute.

The rest of the afternoon and evening he fussed between naps, which he actually took plenty of. Not much I (and later Mike) did for him made him happy. The picture above is a perfect example of his mood. Check out those chubby cheeks. Even grumpy, isn't he cute?! It's been rainy here, and all the extra moisture has made his hair really curly in the front. Cuteness. Hopefully tomorrow he'll be feeling much better. He's going to Wendy's during school and then hanging with me at school until Daddy comes to pick him up. I'm sure he'll be in bed by the time I get home. I'm really bummed about not getting to see him for more than a few hours tomorrow. Check back this weekend for more pics!

Do you need a gallbadder?

The answer is no. Apparently the only thing a gallbladder does is cause trouble.

For Allison, that is. I'm sure she'll be posting something on her blog about her eventful week, so I'll tell the story from my perspective. At 2:30 Wednesday morning Allison called me and asked me to come watch her kids. She was having a gallbladder attack and she and Kenny were headed to the ER. Luckily (I guess) Jack was having a bad night, so I was already up when she called. So I got Jack packed up and we were at their house by 2:45. The night went something like this:

2:45 Kennison and Jack awake in the bed. Colton wakes up to eat.
3:00 Finish feeding Colton, put him back in his crib. Feed Jack.
3:25 Jack fed and rocked to sleep. Colton is crying again.
3:30 Colton spit up ALL over himself/ the crib. Change him and move him to the bed in the boppy.
3:45 Colton and Jack are both FINALLY asleep. Rub Kennison's back.
4:00 Kennison FINALLY asleep, so I can sleep. YAY!
5:45 Colton cries for food. While I'm fixing the bottle, Jack and Kennison wake up.
6:00 Colton is fed. Back to the boppy. Feed Jack.
6:30 Jack and Kennison both asleep. Me too!
7:20 Kristin (Kenny's sister) arrives to help me. Colton and Kennison are awake.
8:10 Jack wakes up and we're all up for the day.

Kristin stayed until about 11, and I learned what it was like to be a Mommy of 3! (By the way, YIKES!) Allison had surgery to remove her gallbladder and is recovering well. She even went home last night.

Then, today, Jack got to come to school with me all day. His babysitter Wendy's kids were sick so he became a student for the day! He was great, but Mom is TIRED! So, that's all for this post. No pictures in this one!

Our first post

Life in the Friedrich family has just gotten lots more exciting! Our little guy has started sitting with help, meaning he can hold his head up consistently now! He seems to like sitting in his Bumbo chair, and even gave Kennison's bouncer a try the other night!

Jack has a new cousin- Colton Zachary Friedrich was born a couple of weeks ago on January 10! He's a cutie and look just like his mom.

January 10 was also my first day back to teaching- boo! Jack likes his babysitter, and I'm glad I only have to go two days a week, but I still miss him like crazy!
