Snow Day!!!

Snow is a plenty here in KC. This week it's very snowy and (below) freezing, but these are actually from last week, when it was snowy, but not so cold. Meaning, of course, that it was in the 20's.

The three big kids adored playing in the snow. They were much more into it than last year, when they just kind of stood/sat  in it and looked at us (see picture below).

Yep, Jack can still wear the same snowsuit that he wore last year... which coincidentally is Mike's old snowsuit!

Charlie's first time in the snow was a total success. He slept through the whole thing all toasty in his snowsuit!

Kennison made her first snow angel. The boys weren't too keen on the idea of laying down in the snow.

After about a half hour outside, the adults had had enough! This is how Jack felt about us making him go inside...

Is it just me?

Or is this sweet face looking much more like an almost two year-old toddler than baby these days?

From a recent impromptu trip to the mall, some pictures of my big boy...

Jack Loves Gigi

Jack sure had a great time with his Gigi this past week. He had a great time with Papa, too, but sadly I didn't get any video of them together.

Here are a few videos to prove the fun times they had together.

My favorite: Bathtime fun!

Playing piano - check out my mom's impromptu "Itsy Bitsy Spider" skills!

Days in the Life

This cube/ottoman has become a favorite toy to stand on or sit in, not to mention the fact that it's full of toys.

Another favorite activity around these parts is the ball pit. Check out Kennison's static!

Coco didn't feel great this weekend. Here he is lounging in the rocking chair.

And later asleep with the chair's kickstand turned out into an infant carrier. Yes it's the same night. Don't ask why he's in a different outfit.

Beat it... mix it... stir it!

Jack's favorite toy at the moment is a wooden spoon that has been deemed his. He loves to use it as a drum stick, pretend to stir with it, and just carry it from room to room.

Today, he was getting cooking tips from Rachael Ray, using his actual drum stick and a stacking toy.

And all that beating, mixing, and stirring can wear a little guy out! He always remembers to take a moment to rest.

Hanging out with my new toy!

Jack has a new toy- made for him by Grandma. In fact, he has an elephant at our house, and a frog at hers!

What a mess!

The general state of my living room is alternately clean and a disaster area. One of the reasons I was excited to move into our house is that we would have room to put Jack's toys AWAY, instead of having them crammed in all the empty spaces left in our previously "baby free" home. Since our current home has always included a baby, all the baby stuff was planned for... er, I should say, planned around.

I'm quite proud of the organizational system I've come up with for his living room toys, and I think it works because when Kennison is over playing, she can very successfully help me return everything to it's proper place.

Here's what it looks like:

Now this is what the living room looked like this morning after Jack's morning play session:

And this is what I found him doing when I came back into the living room after getting some more coffee:

Yep, that's the pile of junk mail I was going to take upstairs to shred... And I say again, why do we even buy toys?

Mid-Afternoon Photo Shoot

We needed a little fun this afternoon. Some of the shots could be better, but that's what you get when the only two home are in the pictures!
